It has come to our attention that FAKE Armando 4x4 products are now being imported into New Zealand from China. The Real Armando products are made in Thailand and are easily identified by having a Unique QR Code on the front of the Bar which will also match your unique serial number which will take you to our Hidden warranty page where the two numbers should match up to be a real Armando Bar.
These fake bars are NOT ! crash-tested and are not proven to be Airbag compliant and in so they will FAIL all WOF inspections. They are made of the lowest grade steel and will start to rust within six Months.
Most importantly your Insurance company will not cover you in an accident as your Ranger , Raptor & Hilux was not road legal and not up to a WOF standard when sold.
If you have been sold a Ute with a new WOF at the time the bar was fitted this is a FAKE WOF and NZTA has been notified of this and has told all WOF inspectors to fail them on the next WOF inspection.
What can you do if you brought a FAKE Armando product fitted from a dealership?
The first step is ask to see the ADR ( Australian Design Rules ) testing report and or the sticker with the ADR number on it to prove that yes it’s ADR crash tested & approved. You can also ask to see the crash testing report. This report must have the Brand Armando as the manufacturer not a Car Dealerships Name or own Brand.
ALL REAL ARMANDO™ BULL BARS ARE ADR CRASH TESTED IN AUSTRALIA AND COME WITH A ADR STICKER PLACED ON THE INSIDE OF THE BAR AND OUR UNIQUE QR CODE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BAR AS SEEN IN THE PHOTO BELOW:
What can you do if they can’t provide the ADR information?
1. You can get them to replace it with a Bar that is ADR certified.
2. Get a full refund on the bar or the Ute as it was not up to WOF standards when sold. By law the dealership has to sell the UTE with a legitimate WOF
3. Lay a complaint with the Commerce Commission
4. Lay a complaint with the Motor Vehicle Disputes Tribunal
If you lay a complaint advise them you have been sold a product that is not only fake and was misleading but you have been sold a product that is dangerous and is not fit for purpose for N.Z Roads.
Where to lay a complaint Commerce Commission:
10 of the Fair Trading Act says “No person shall, in trade, engage in conduct that is liable to mislead the public as to the nature, manufacturing process, characteristics, suitability for a purpose, or quantity of goods.”
How do I take a claim to the Motor Vehicle Disputes Tribunal?

Please also note dealerships are now removing the name ARMANDO OFF OF THE BARS TO TRY HIDE THAT THEY ARE FAKES. If the design is the same they are still a fake and still have not been crash tested. Armando owns the Copyright to the design of this bar as well as the Transformer Logo on the sides of the bar.
